Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is most famous for her role as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick won two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. In the final season of the show Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13th, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in the show in the role of Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick received an Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Her film credits include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are also among her many. Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as Speech and Family Therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick has stated that she's Jewish and has been a participant in Passover dinners.
